Pink Ombre

Iv'e been dying to do this for ages and today I finally did it! Last year I ombred my hair but since then iv'e had a hair cut and dyed over the top of it so the ombre was only faintly there. Soooo I wanted to re ombre my hair however as it's summer and Iv'e finished school I wanted to do a fun colour so pretty much i dip dyed my hair in an ombre effect (I'm to much of a girl to dye my entire hair any other colour than light brown ahaha.) I bought the 'Live color XXL' by 'Schwarzkopf' and it's from the 'Ultra bright' range and it's '94 purple punk' which is a semi permanent hair dye. I initially wanted lilac hair and new that to get the purple to lilac I just had to dilute it with conditioner so I did that and it turned out pink which I'm fine with however just as a heads up. Ok so the things you're going to need are:

  • A bleach (if your hair isn't already light blonde)
  • A hair dye colour of your choice
  • Tin foil
  • Conditioner
  • A bowl and paintbrush type thing
  • Hairbrush
  • A hair tie

  1. SKIP IF HAIR IS ALREADY BLONDE: To begin with you want to bleach the ends of your hair if you haven't got blonde hair already so you get sections of your hair, place it on the tin foil and cover in bleach up the hair (not all the way however the height you go to is dependent on your preference and hair length), I did mine about just over a quarter high. Make sure you get all the hair covered in bleach but it doesn't have to be perfect as it's suppose to be fairly messy. Fold your hair into the tin foil. Follow the instructions on the dye you used (I used Live Color XXL by Shwarzkopf and it was platinum blonde I believe) and I also recommend allowing your hair to air dry after you've washed it out as you're already damaging your hair quite a bit.
  2. Now that your ends are blonde you need to do the same thing but with your choice of colour. If you want the colour lighter (for example lilac instead of purple) just add conditioner till you get the colour you want.
  3. Once you've washed it out and your hair is dry, go in again with the colour and apply it to the tips of your hair only as this will give it the ombre effect.
I bought my dye from Co-op but you can get it in pretty much any supermarket and drugstore :)
PS Please ask your parents if your under 16 or whatever haha :)
As you can see it did turn out slightly pink but I just absolutely love my hair now, I was so bored of being a muddy blonde for so long and now I feel like a unicorn.

Thank you for reading!
