July Favorites / Summer

Hey everyone! :) I haven't posted in a while due to the fact Iv'e been away in Cornwall and at my sisters (which is also why my July favorites is late) however today's blog post is going to be my July favorites woo!

Clutch Bag

First things first is my beautiful clutch bag from Accessorize. My sister actually bought me this for prom in June and I love it soooo much. It's a beautiful silver jeweled box clutch bag with a chain and ahhhh words cannot describe the beauty. To be honest I haven't been using it since however Iv'e used it as a kind of room decor piece (I'll have a picture below) and I just love the way it looks, it's so classy. Obviously I will be using it in the future however as of late iv'e had no reason to. I don't know if it will still be in stores/online (sorry if not :( ) and it was £49 which I know is pretty steep but my sister knew I couldn't find any other bag I loved so she kindly bought it for me :)

So Undercover

Obviously it wouldn't be a decent favorites without something to do with Miley Cyrus haha. This month of July and every other month iv'e been re watching 'So Undercover' which stars Miley Cyrus (obviously) and it's just soooo good. Id describe it as a mix between action and chick flick and I won't say anything about it as I'll just butcher it but just watch it, it's amazing.

Micellar Water

So this is the Garnier micellar cleansing water and it's the first cleansing water iv'e used and it's fantastic! People say it's a cheaper version of Bioderma and that's good enough a reason to buy it for me. It just removes a bulk of make-up before washing your face and it's gentle and doesn't break me out so yeah I looooove it. The lowest iv'e seen the price is £2.99 in 'Savers' and the highest iv'e seen is in boots at £4.99 (when it's not on sale) but highly recommend ! :)

Roll on

This next one's kind of weird but an essential ahaha. Iv'e heard that spray on deodorant can cause the dark circles under your armpits and roll on doesn't so I thought i need roll on AM I RIGHT LADY'S ? I just got this 'Soft and Gentle' one from boots (99p) purely because it smells soooo good (wild rose and vanilla) and it's so moisturising and smells good and I have noticed a decline in the area of darkness.

Nail Varnish

So my Mum tells me this colour is "too dark for summer" and i'm just oblivious to the fact that it is however iv'e been loving this deep red colour in the month of July and there's nothing more to say on this. It's speed dry, cheap and pretty. It's from Avon and it's one of their 60 second speed drys in the colour 'Red Wine'.

Sunglasses

Simple pair of bulky black sunglasses from Primark that cost me £2 and have lasted me all summer and they're just great to throw in your bag and not have to worry about them breaking!

Notebook

A nerdy favorite but a favorite non the less is my notebook that cost me £2.50 from Morrisons ahaha. I haven't actually written anything in it yet as i want what I write in it to be neat and not pointless because I think it's so pretty ahaha. It's a faux leather looking notebook with lined pages.

Bumble and Bumble

My mum gave me this 'Bumble and Bumble' surf kit and I have been LOVING the surf spray in it (I haven't used the shampoo or conditioner yet) as it just gives my hair a beachy texture that looks so effortless (probably because it is) and since Iv'e had my hair cut short it does so much more because my hair isn't being weighed down by extra length. LOVEEEEE.

Summer OOTD / Orange Burst

Iv'e been debating what to blog about for a while and have recently been ordering ALOT of clothes and had the urge to share some outfits i put together for you guys! :) This ones a summer outfit that's light and effortless.

I ordered these orange tie-dye shorts from Asos the other day and they came today (Asos has amazing quick delivery even if you don't get next day) and they're light and SOOOOOOO comfy and i'm in love with them. They brighten up an outfit and just make it look so well put toogether if you pair them with a plain simple top. They're 95% cotton and 5% elastane (fun fact) but this makes them so soft and comfy! The best bit is they were only £9.50! I paired these shorts with a plain black cami top from the brand selection I believe but I got it from Tk Maxx but you can pick up a plain black cami pretty much anywhere :) The dark contrast of the black against the orange is beautiful and just makes the outfit subtle and not tacky. I imagine the shorts would look INSANE with a great tan but I wouldn't know as i'm so pale ahaha. I wore some black double strap birkenstock style sandals that I got from Primark for £5! I love them, they're so comfy and are really in fashion at the moment which is good because me and my mum have some from a few years ago ahaha. The shoes go really well with the top (obviously because the top is also black aha) and I also wore a really cool watch I ordered from Asos which is actually from New Look and it was on sale for £5 :) It's a salmony pink which goes really well with the shorts! :) Lastly I worse some tourtase shell circle sunglasses from Primark that were £3 and are amazzzing :) This whole outfit is very retro and summery and can be made into a evening outfit if you swap the sandals for some heels and throw on a light black jacket.

I hope you like the outfit! Thank you for reading- Any questions you can ask here or find me here:Twitter: https://twitter.com/LucyRos78667640Instagram: http://instagram.com/lucyrose7565

Pink Ombre

Iv'e been dying to do this for ages and today I finally did it! Last year I ombred my hair but since then iv'e had a hair cut and dyed over the top of it so the ombre was only faintly there. Soooo I wanted to re ombre my hair however as it's summer and Iv'e finished school I wanted to do a fun colour so pretty much i dip dyed my hair in an ombre effect (I'm to much of a girl to dye my entire hair any other colour than light brown ahaha.) I bought the 'Live color XXL' by 'Schwarzkopf' and it's from the 'Ultra bright' range and it's '94 purple punk' which is a semi permanent hair dye. I initially wanted lilac hair and new that to get the purple to lilac I just had to dilute it with conditioner so I did that and it turned out pink which I'm fine with however just as a heads up. Ok so the things you're going to need are:

  • A bleach (if your hair isn't already light blonde)
  • A hair dye colour of your choice
  • Tin foil
  • Conditioner
  • A bowl and paintbrush type thing
  • Hairbrush
  • A hair tie

  1. SKIP IF HAIR IS ALREADY BLONDE: To begin with you want to bleach the ends of your hair if you haven't got blonde hair already so you get sections of your hair, place it on the tin foil and cover in bleach up the hair (not all the way however the height you go to is dependent on your preference and hair length), I did mine about just over a quarter high. Make sure you get all the hair covered in bleach but it doesn't have to be perfect as it's suppose to be fairly messy. Fold your hair into the tin foil. Follow the instructions on the dye you used (I used Live Color XXL by Shwarzkopf and it was platinum blonde I believe) and I also recommend allowing your hair to air dry after you've washed it out as you're already damaging your hair quite a bit.
  2. Now that your ends are blonde you need to do the same thing but with your choice of colour. If you want the colour lighter (for example lilac instead of purple) just add conditioner till you get the colour you want.
  3. Once you've washed it out and your hair is dry, go in again with the colour and apply it to the tips of your hair only as this will give it the ombre effect.
I bought my dye from Co-op but you can get it in pretty much any supermarket and drugstore :)
PS Please ask your parents if your under 16 or whatever haha :)
As you can see it did turn out slightly pink but I just absolutely love my hair now, I was so bored of being a muddy blonde for so long and now I feel like a unicorn.

Thank you for reading!

I don't think iv'e missed anything out but if you have any questions on things you're not sure about just comment or find me on twitter or instagram:

June Favorites 2014

Hey guyyyyys :) Bit late to the party but today's blog is June favorites! This month I have an unsatisfying odd number of 11 favorites aha however I'll begin :) (All links to the products will be listed at the end of my description if I can find it!)

Handbag

First things first is my new bag from h&m that I got in the sale, it's just a black faux leather handbag with silver hardware that I got for £7! It has a detachable shoulder strap as well as two hand straps. I absolutely love it, it's the perfect size and is a great staple piece as it's plane and goes with pretty much every outfit, adding a mature feel to the outfit which I need ahaaha. Unfortunately I can't find the exact bag online however they may still be in stores and if you do find them I know they also do a brown version. Here's a similar bag http://www.hm.com/gb/product/21411?article=21411-A#shopOrigin=SA.

Sunglasses

Next on my list of favorites is my black transparent case from h&m and my pink circular sunglasses from New Look! The case from h&m (£2) is just something that protects your sunglasses or whatever you want to store in it whilst looking on trend and cute and I just love the transparent trend lately! Again I couldn't find this online however it may still be in store but there's plenty of similar things online. My sunglasses were £4.99 from New Look and are circular lens with a transparent pink frame that I love. They're just a cheap sturdy pare of sunglasses that will last me all summer and possibly even next if i'm careful. They add a retro look to all outfits and are just so glamorous looking! AGHHH again! I can't find them on the New Look website however Iv'e seen them in store as of late and i'm sure you can find similar ones in other stores.

Bangerz Album

Every good favorites isn't quite complete without the 'Bangerz' CD by Miley Cyrus! This Album is my all time faveeeeee and each song is different and relatable. Her voice is so different and husky and the album has a "Dirty south hip-hop" sound. Big Shaun, French Montana, Ludacris, Nelly and Britney Spears all feature on the album and me and my sister LOVE blaring this out in the car. The deluxe album has 3 more songs I believe and is worth the extra money! If you buy it from a store (not on your phone or whatever) it comes with stickers ahaha. Itunes: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/bangerz-deluxe-version/id691280086?ign-mpt=uo%3D4

Tiny Tea

Ooooh this one gets me excited ahaha. Recently iv'e been on a health kick and have started eating healthy and exercising (kind of) and my friend bought me 'Tiny Tea' for my birthday and iv'e finally got round to drinking it! I'm not going to go into to much detail about what it does as such because i'm no expert (I'll leave a link to the website where you'll get a better explanation) however it's a tea that is essentially a detox and clears your skin, stops bloating, defines muscle etc on the right diet and daily exercise. So far i feel as if i'm not bloating? I'm not really sure but iv'e only been doing it for about 3 days (you drink it 30 minutes before or after every meal, so 3 times a day). It's an acquired taste but if you like herbal teas like myself then you'll probably like it (my friends hate it ahaha) but i'm enjoying getting into a routine and I'm just really enjoying it! :) http://www.yourtea.com/

Urban Decay Naked 3

As my prom was in the month of June, I was allowed to buy some nicer make up as I was going to be doing it myself so I got the URBAN DECAY NAKED 3 PALLET WOOOOO! There's 12 colours and it comes with a 2 ended eyeshadow brush. The colour pay off is insane and the packaging is stunning aha. The colours are beautiful and are sooo good for a smokey eye which i'm also loving! It was £37 which is to me slightly pricey however I know i'll get a lot of use out of it and it was for a special occasion. I got mine from a Debenhams in Reading but I know they're not sold in every Debenhams. You can also get them from House of Fraiser and online. http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_123932030999_-1

Eyelash Curlers and Mascara

I'm going to do two of my next favorites together as one of them is the Eyeko eyelash curler and Maybeline The Rocket mascara. I got the eyelash curler from a magazine so it was obviously a lot cheaper then the retail price which isn't to bad at £12. I never got the hype about eyelash curlers and obviously it was because my eyelash curlers sucked! These have done wonders to my eyelashes and make such a difference! Doing this before I use the Rocket mascara it honestly makes my eyelashes look fake in a good way. People have asked me if I was wearing fake eyelashes because my eyelashes looked so naturally fluttery and my eyelashes aren't even naturally that long, just average. You don't have to get the waterproof version of the mascara, the only reason I got it was for prom and I wanted my makeup to last all night even if I was sweating from dancing haha but it honestly works! It's great for summer too because of the hot weather and if you go swimming, it does not budge however it is easy to remove with an eye makeup remover :) You can purchase the eyelash curlers online or in Space nk is a place I know you can get them from. Eyelash Curlers: http://www.eyeko.com/eyeko-lash-curler This isn't the waterproof version however you can buy this from any drugstore like boots or superdrug http://www.maybelline.co.uk/makeup/eye/mascara/volum-express-the-rocket-mascara.aspx.

Essie Nail Varnish

Essie nail varnish has always been one of my go to brands because it lasts a long time and you only really need one coat. This one in particular is called 'In the cab-ana' and it's a beautiful light blue/turquoise colour and it's perfect for summer! Not much else to say on that one, it's just a lovely go to summer colour!

Soap and Gloary 'Love at first blush'

I also got this for prom aha but it's become an everyday application in my makeup and I loveeeee it! It's a shimmery blush powder and it's a wheel of 3 alternating colours. A dusky shimmery pink (blush), a shimmery taupey colour (bronze) and a shimmery cream colour (highlighter) and together they create the perfect colour. It is shimmery but when on contact with your face it's not over shimmery and doesn't make you look like a disco ball if you know what I mean? ahha. I got mine from boots; oh and the packaging's really cute and has a mirror too! http://www.soapandglory.com/love-at-first-blush Mine was £11.

Yankee Candle

Holyyyyyyy shiz. Iv'e become OBSESSED with buying the little sampler candles from yankee, mostly because they're the cheapest (£1.80 however mine was cheaper as i did get mine on sale) and just really cute to put in my birdcage candle holder. This one is called 'Honey Blossom' and smells EXACTLY like Angle by Thierry Mugler. It burns so lovely and just fills an entire room. Oh and iv'e just looked on their website and it's cheaper online! http://www.yankee.co.uk/search/honey%20blossom/search.aspx

Powder Paint Fight

Ok so this is more of an activity. As I recently finished secondary school me and my year went down to our local recreational ground and had a huge flour and powdered paint fight with the occasional egg thrown my mostly the guys -.- It was so much fun and the powdered paint really made it even more fun (previous years just used flour) as EVERYONE was covered in vibrant colours and it just looked so cool. I must admit getting it in your eyes and mouth wasn't fun and washing it out of my friends bleach blonde hair was not easy (and in fact stained her hair slightly pink) but it was worth it and i'll never forget it! The powdered paint also lasts surprisingly longer than the flour.

Golddigga Patent Boots

At long last we have reached the end! This is my last favorite of June 2014! I recently purchased some Doc Marten style white floral gouldigga boots. I bought them from Sports Direct in the sale online. They were originally £64.99 and went down to £18.00! Which I thought was a right bargain! I also found a 10% coupon code online which i'll try and find again for you guys! I did have to pay for postage and packaging which was only like £3 so it was worth it! They also sent me a free mug? ahaha. They fit perfectly and are really comfy! They give such a cute girly yet rock look as they are boots but they're floral. Ahhh i'm obsessed and literally style my outfit around them. They're also great quality. LOVE THEM. http://www.sportsdirect.com/golddigga-patent-ladies-boots-232028?colcode=23202801

Capital FM Summer Time Ball- Wembley Stadium 21/06/14

Hi everyone! Last concert blog I promise! I just wanted to document them all before I move onto what I really want my blog to be about. So on the 21st of June I went to Capital FM Summer Time Ball at Wembley Stadium, and for those of you who don't know what this is, it's a huge concert hosted by Capital FM (Radio station). The reason I went was because Miley Cyrus was the headline act so of course I had to go aha. Also my niece loves Ellie Goulding who was also performing there so my sister (once again spoiling me rotten) bought us 2 tickets to go! We had a blast and it was the hottest day of the year so far which was great however not so great when 80 thousand people are trying to get to one place so you get stuck in London traffic (making it just on time with about 2 minutes to spare!). There were 22 acts in total which were:

  • Calvin Harris
  • Ellie Goulding
  • Enrique Iglesias
  • Clean Bandit
  • 5 Seconds of summer
  • Rita Ora
  • Sam Smith was supposed to play however unfortunately didn't turn up
  • Jessie J
  • Union J
  • Duke Dumont
  • Little Mix
  • Kiesza
  • Austin Mahone
  • Ella Henderson
  • Rixton
  • Iggy Azalea
  • The Vamps
  • Cheryl Cole
  • Ed Sheeran
  • Pharrel Williams
  • Miley Cyrus
  • David Guetta

I had such an amazing time, it was from 3:30-11:00 if I remember correctly and time flew by. There were food and drink stalls in the 'lobby?' but i didn't get anything as I was to excited and I reckon it would have cost a bomb aha. I did buy the Tour book which was either £15 or £20 I can't really remember. The highlight for me was Miley Cyrus (I balled my eyes out), David Guetta who turned it into a MASSIVE rave, Pharrel Williams who just enforced girl power which was cute and the classics like Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and Iggy Azalea but they were all good and I highly recommend going! We wern't sat to far back, we were sat in block 126, row 23, seats 87 and 88 which were low down on the far left side of the stage. We could see most things clearly and I was so impressed with the whole thing however the quality of my phone camera isn't brilliant so the pictures aren't even worth uploading so I'll leave a link to Capital FM professional pictures.

HIGHLIGHT: Noah Cyrus and Braison Cyrus on stage with Miley!

Bangerz Tour- Miley Cyrus Take 2

Okay so I went to another Miley Cyrus concert... 4 days later. Me and my sister just could not resist so she bought us 2 more tickets to go to the Direct Arena in Leeds however this time we were seated (did not bother me though, I got to see Miley frickin Cyrus again!) So my sister drove to mine (1-2 hour drive) picked me up then drove back to hers; the next day we jetted off to Leeds Direct Arena which was a butt aching 4 hour drive there and back :( We went on the 10th of May 2014 and of course it was another show stopping performance. My sister and I were so jammy and managed to get front row seats right above where Miley would be 95% of the night (as we knew from the previous concert). We were first assigned seats further back and more to the left however as Sky Ferreira came on stage we noticed two empty seats (where we later sat) so we took our chances and sat in them and if we got moved, we got moved but WE DIDN'T and we had THE BEST seats in the house. This time my sister brought along a huge telescopic camera so she was the camera woman for the night and got amazing photos! Oh and for any Tish Cyrus fans, we spotted her and she looked right at the camera! We both had an amazing night and each time the atmosphere is so overwhelmingly fantastic. Miley has so much talent and love that she showers onto the audience. I must say the merchandise is a littttllleee pricey and on merchandise alone I spent £90 at London and Leeds together which bought me the tour book (£15), the Bangerz hot pants (£25) and 2 tour tops (£25 each) however I had just been my birthday so I was lucky enough to have money from my birthday and I thought this opportunity will never come again so I went all out! This time I didn't throw anything at Miley because I wasn't expecting to be so close but she did look at me a few times so that's all that matters hahaha.

Thank you for reading guys!

Bangerz Tour- Miley Cyrus

I'm a self confessed lover of Miley Cyrus and have been for 8 long years. Last year I accepted the fact that i'd never be able to see her in concert due to the minimal shows in England and the costs HOWEVER last year Miley announced a world tour for her new album 'Bangerz' which I could not be more happier about. So for my sixteenth birthday my sister bought me 2 tickets to go to her London 02 arena on the 6th of May 2014. I never really got excited for it until i walked into the 02 (which i balled my eyes out as i ran to the merchandise desk ahaha) as it still all felt so surreal. I decided to take my sister as she was kind enough to buy me the tickets in the first place (which by the way were standing tickets!) even though she wasn't a fan of Miley (however is a convert and now loves her as much as I do if that's even possible) and my best-friend Jordan is also a huge fan of Miley so she bought a ticket and came along with us. We queued for around 6 hours outside the performance room so we could get as close to the front as possible and then queued for another 2 or more hours. We were 2 rows back from the front and it's surprising how little you can actually see with just two people in front of you. I must admit after all that waiting my back was aching and my feet were aching and i was sweating buckets (tmi ahaha) from the hundreds if not thousands of people squished up against me. First Sky Ferreira came on stage to warm up the crowd and sang a few songs which was cool but in all honesty not many people were interested they just wanted Miley as did I. The beginning of her song 'SMS (Bangerz)' began to play and every one screamed as loud as they could and on a huge screen Miley's face appeared which slowly opened it's mouth and out came a MASSIVE slide in the shape of a tongue which Miley of course came out of. I cried. So much. Iv'e never cried so hard in such a short space of time in my entire life. At this point everyone was going craaaazy and I could barely see Miley so my sister just picked me up and swung me onto her shoulders where then I could see everything but then the security told me to get down so I did :( Fortunately though my 5ft 10 friend Jordan fought her way to the front and dragged me with her and my dream had come true. I was standing right in front of Miley 'mother f**king' Cyrus. She is flawless and her voice is insane. Me and Jordan had actually bought a £3 bra the day before the concert to right our twitters and instagrams on so we could throw it at her and I even wrote a letter to her and sewed it into the front of the bra; I threw it at her and she only went and picked it up, swung it about over her head, flung it in her private areas AND THREW IT BACK, unfortunately I couldn't reach it as it landed on the other side of the barrier and the security men wouldn't pick up the bra because they thought we were some weirdos who took off our used bra and threw it at Miley. Eventually I asked one of the two women who were sat on the other side of the barrier to pass us the bra and that woman was Miley's director (Dianne Martel) which i was oblivious to until the next day which broke my heart because I could have given her the bra to give to Miley :( And the other woman was one of Miley's best-friends Lisa :( At the end of the day we have a bra that Miley Cyrus has touched haha! It was truly one of the best nights of my life and i'm so glad i got to share it with my sister who has been to a Michael Jackson concert and said Miley's was amazing! I recommend to anyone over the age of 14 (they are fairly risque ahaha) to go to a Miley Cyrus concert :)
P.S The picture's aren't great because our camera is really old and we were being bashed about and who want's to take pictures when you're having the time of your life ahahaha.
